Redesigning Marker Learning’s Student Evaluation Reports

How a new AI-powered workflow transformed complex assessments into a faster, easier, and client-winning experience

Overview

Marker Learning provides accessible psychoeducational evaluations to students and families. Their existing student evaluation report process was functional but outdated, difficult to navigate, and lacked the ability to leverage AI to streamline workflows.


Marker needed a redesigned experience that was intuitive, efficient, and adaptable—while also helping them meet an important client launch dates.


We partnered with Marker Learning to redesign the student psychoeducational evaluation report workflow and implement new AI-powered features that significantly improved usability, client satisfaction, and product adoption.

Business Problem

Marker wanted a streamlined, modern UI that would:

  • • Enable faster report creation.
  • • Integrate AI to make intelligent suggestions.
  • • Improve client satisfaction with a polished, intuitive product.


The key issues with the existing solution:

Cumbersome setup

Every report had to be created from scratch, which was time-consuming for clinicians.

Limited reuse of existing work

  • There was no easy way to adapt from previous evaluations or use a template.

Lack of smart guidance

  • The system didn’t recommend templates or summarize external documents, leaving users to handle large amounts of manual text entry.

The Results

  • The redesign introduced a cleaner, more intuitive UI using Marker’s existing frameworks (TipTap and LightBlocks), while significantly improving usability. The visual update created a more professional, user-friendly experience that resonated strongly with clinicians and clients alike.

Smarter Report Creation Flow


We redesigned the “new student” workflow to include three flexible options:


  • • Start from a template
  • • Copy from an existing student report
  • • Start from scratch


AI-Powered Document Ingestion

When a user adds a student, they can upload files (e.g., a previous assessment or referral packet). The system scans the content and:


  • • Suggests relevant text replacements or additions.
  • • Highlights suggested edits directly in the report.
  • • Allows users to trace suggestions back to their original source document by clicking on the highlighted text.


This not only saves significant manual effort but also builds trust and transparency into the AI recommendations.
